新旧訳聖書を読むのワ－クショップをする中で、いつも出て来るのが、しるしの話
病気を直したい、貧困から免れたい、戦争や暴力、差別から逃れたい。神にそれを求める。人間はそれは仕方ないのではないか。
イエスはそれを求めることを、いましめる。よく教会ではキリスト教は御利益宗教ではないと言われる。生き方そのもの、苦しみを受け入れる力を与えると、確かに御利益宗教は更に心につけ込むそれよりはいいのかもしれません。だけど、それは、根本的な社会的な解決にならないか抑圧
に資するだけではないか。

新約聖書をたどると、病気をイエスはいやす、ただ、それを言いふらすのを止めている。一方でしるしを求めるのを嘆く。
その教えの奥に、何があるのか。私は、祈るり問い続けると思う。
In the workshops on reading the New and Old Testaments, the topic of "signs" always comes up.
People want to be cured of illnesses, escape poverty, and avoid war, violence, and discrimination. It's natural for humans to seek help from God for these things.
Jesus admonishes seeking such things. It's often said in churches that Christianity is not a religion of material benefits. It is about the way of life, accepting suffering, and giving strength to endure it, which indeed might be better than exploiting people's faith for material gains. However, does this not ultimately fail to provide fundamental social solutions and only contribute to oppression?
